Dean Pierose, the proprietor of Cucina, the unique Avenues restaurant and wine bar, pays special attention to his menu of culinary delights and in keeping with his dedication to excellence announced this week (July 21) that every one of his employees will make a living wage of at least $15 per hour.
As one of the most notable restaurants in the valley, we need to make sure we are treating our employees to the same first-rate standard.” Pierose said. “We believe that by investing in our team members, we are investing in the community and the future.”
Cucina is a deli by day, where friends, family and business associates meet up for coffee, breakfast and pastries in the morning and specialty salads, deli sandwiches and items such as coconut salmon and Curry chicken salad for lunch. Evening brings an entirely different atmosphere to the Second Avenue restaurant with a wine bar boasting a large selection of varietals and fine dining with the most creative entrees in the valley.
Pierose notes that Cucina's chefs and wait staff have created a warm and friendly atmosphere with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. “It is their commitment to service and our cuisine,” he explained, “that has made Cucina a sought after venue that consistently strives for excellence.”
